Thanks for stopping in at the home of Meza Franco Pottery and Natural Building, actively creating unique pottery in Austin, Texas and building sustainably with cob, adobe bricks, super adobe, and natural plasters.

I grew up on the central coast of California in San Luis Obispo County and began manipulating earth in 2016. Beginning with natural building followed by creating unique pottery in 2019 with symmetrical hand carved designs, while continuing to learn new techniques like marbling and refining trimming for crisped edged work. Most of my work has been distributed through different markets and pop-ups in my local area of California.

Natural Building is also a really big passion of mine with a dream to one day build my own sustainable home. While pursuing my first building workshops in 2017, I traveled to Portugal and had the great opportunity to assist in constructing a sauna, pizza ovens, an outdoor kitchen, and a round studio with a loft.

Between the years of 2018- 2022 I continued my love for building back home in San Luis Obispo teaching cob workshops and sharing my knowledge.  It was at this time, that I also found my love for pottery and began developing my clay crafting skills and sharing them through workshops in the local area.

In 2023 I was accepted to attend a 2 month apprenticeship at Cal Earth of Earth Architecture to learn the construction method of Super Adobe.

Since then I moved to Austin to start my own line of pottery, Meza Franco. While continuing my love for building by working for Simon Gonzalez of Texas Cob. A third generation master plaster. My goal is to learn all the finishing techniques of natural plastering for my own home I plan to build one day.
